The 12th Cycle: Terra Branford
In Dissidia Duodecim 012 Final Fantasy, like at the beginning of Final Fantasy VI, Terra is under the thumb of evil, this time solely in the form of the big bad of Final Fantasy VI, Kefka Palazzo. It is only after Kuja, wishing to foil Kefka's fun, weakens the spell against her that she begins to struggle against Kefka's hold over her. Kefka is obviously displeased that his "toy" is broken. When Terra starts struggling and telling him that she doesn't want to hurt others, Kefka begins to cast some sort of painful magic on her. Terra's torture is interrupted at the arrival of Vaan, a Warrior of Cosmos, who happens by while Kefka is hurting her. Vaan, seeing her being hurt, fights Kefka and proceeds to drag the confused girl away from Kefka, leaving a grumbling Kefka behind to mutter to himself.
Once the two part ways, Terra fights her way through the manakins and evntually finds her way to Sanctuary, the home of Cosmos, the goddess of harmony. Completely exhausted, Terra collapses in front of the goddess. Cosmos, seeing Terra's potential for good, decides that in the next cycle (the 13th), Terra will fight as one of her warriors.
