183 years before the original film trilogy, King Helm Hammerhand of Rohan defends his people from Wulf, a vengeful Dunlending lord. Foreced into a last stand at teh Hornburg, later known as Helm's Deep. Helm's daugher, Hera, leads the resistance against an enemy determined to destroy them.

Hera
In the brief appendices in the original Lord of the Rings book, Hera is the unnamed daughter of Helm Hammerhand. In the anime film, Lord of the Rings - War of the Rohihirrim, she is given a name and her character is fleshed out a bit more. She is depicted as a nobel and headstrong young woman who is loyal to her father and the kingdom of Rohan but she feels called to be a shieldmaiden of Rohan, while her father wishes to see her married. Even though they have their conflicts. the two still care for eachother. When Rohan falls to a vengence filled former friend of hers, Wulf, and her family is put in danger---Hera is forced to be a temporary leader to help the remnants of her people flee from destruction and make a last stand at what would later be known as Helm's Deep.
